Mornings start with coffee, of course. ☕ While sipping on my first cup, I go through Slack messages, emails, and any overnight alerts—because something always happens when you’re offline. As a Frontend Lead Developer, my day revolves around ensuring our Remix portal runs smoothly, debugging UI glitches, and refining user experiences. If it’s a sprint week, I’ll be deep in planning, reviewing tickets, and making sure the backlog is manageable. Some days, I code right away—either fixing a bug that slipped past testing or tweaking performance to make the app snappier. Other days, I spend time reviewing pull requests, making sure everything aligns with our standards (and doesn’t break production).
Midday is usually a mix of meetings and focused work. Stand-ups keep the team aligned, and if there’s a new feature rolling out, I’ll be troubleshooting edge cases no one thought of. Being a lead means balancing hands-on coding with high-level decision-making. It’s not just about writing JavaScript or React components; it’s about understanding how users interact with the app and making their experience seamless—even under slow network conditions. Sometimes, I’ll jump into DevOps-related issues or dig into API responses when the frontend isn’t behaving as expected. And, of course, there are those days when an unexpected bug in production turns the afternoon into a fire-fighting session.
Evenings are for winding down, but let’s be real—sometimes work lingers. Before logging off, I check if any team members need help, clear out smaller tasks, or note down things for tomorrow. On quieter days, I explore ways to improve the portal—whether it’s experimenting with a new UI library or optimizing some existing code. And if time permits, I squeeze in some learning—keeping up with frontend trends, because in tech, staying still means falling behind. Then, it’s back to life outside of work—whether that’s spending time with family, reading a book, or just enjoying a moment of quiet. Because at the end of the day, work is important, but so is everything else.
